Just made it home from work through a blizzard. Probably 3" or so on the ground so far, but the winds easily have pushed visibility down to 1/4 mile, less in some spots. It wasn't really that bad as most people seemed to be taking the advice to stay home. Tomorrow could be fun. I've heard 10-12" by tomorrow night, possibly 16" by Saturday morning. At least I'm not in Minneapolis where they're supposed to get nearly 24" by Saturday morning.

Edit: +1 for the snow, altough it's mainly because the plows haven't been into the neighborhoods yet. Tried going to work last night, about 11" of snow on the ground, 4-5" between the tire tracks in the street. Made it to the bottom of our street then got stuck in the muck trying to turn the corner. Got unstuck than almost got stuck trying to turn around in someone's driveway (that was plowed/snowblowed out). Decided to simply try and make it home and got stuck trying to turn back onto our street. Called my mom and brother to come help dig me out, then followed my brother on a roughly 2-mile route out of the neighborhood to a main street (that didn't look that great) then back to our street. I'm so glad I took Sunday and Monday off at the bank and I'm hoping the plows make it through before I'm supposed to go to work Monday night at Target. If not, I'll be staying home again.

Does winter get a point if damage is from snowbank in a parking lot?

Winter can bite me.

We got 20 inches of snow here last Friday and I went out Saturday night to see a friend, 60 miles each way only the major roads were plowed at all. Made it just fine.

Only real damage I've ever had from winter in my Ti was once, back in 04, where I slid on some ice into a pile of iced over plowed snow. Busted my front bumper cover a bit but thats what inspired me to get the M3 version =)

This whole snow thing is so weird to me. Where I come from, we don't have seasons and snow is something you see on the news and visit for a day or 2. I did spin out in the rain though, once.

I lived in Utah for 6 years and never had a problem with my trusty Blizzaks. I lived at the bottom of a small hill and the car would go up no problem...as long as I let the tires engage the snow. My wife's Civic would dog-ass the rear end into the curb...FWD sucks.

As an aside, my first car was a 1979 Chevette. I grew up in Buffalo. Never used snows, never got stuck. That was a good learning experience, I'll tell ya.

Oh man, I love Scotland, even though I've never been there. I will some day though. I see Coatbridge is down in the lowlands. You ever traveled around Scotland, namely to Islay, Skye, or Orkney?

We just got about 4 more inches of snow yesterday, along with strong winds and frigid temps. We're sitting at about 20" on the ground right now. The wind chill right now is -21F (about what the temperature was Monday morning) and it's only supposed to get worse today and tomorrow. Car is getting around just fine, other than during the Christmas blizzard when the streets weren't plowed. The back end tried to get a little loose around a curve on my way to work yesterday morning, but I was driving slow enough with both hands on the wheel and was able to control it. Lost track of how many vehicles (mostly SUVs) that I saw in the ditch, and there were way too many people following too closely. I trust my driving, it's just all the other idiots that I worry about.

same here, even though it dont snow where i live ppl drive stupid. i mean even at speeds way above posted limits i know what my car can do, its the people around me switching lanes without signals and randomly slowing down because they just realized the photo enforcement next 300ft signs when they are clearly posted 1/2 mile and 1 mile before.
