Once you have a branded title your car is worth about 1/2 of wholesale book according to the insurance companies. So you put 3 grand and a lot of work into the car and get in another accident, then they pay you like 1500 to 200 bucks, its a money pit at that point. And in my experience they are going to ding you another 10% on your rates for a branded title. Of course all insurance companies are different... Maybe Geico is warm and fuzzy and cuddly and treats their customers like royalty... Tweeked chassis alone is going to be 2000 or more to fix... All 3 of them ckecked the car and agreed that all the stuff can be fixed for about $2600, which is exactly how much they gave me (he cut me a check right away). All in all, I'm planning on keeping the car & fixing it up... Tomorrow I got to see the list of ALL stuff that needs to be replaced - order it up - and have the car put together. Silver lining.. considering my local mechanic is indeed a friend & will not overcharge, I will finally get a new set of shocks & springs (which I needed desteratelly) + the front right fender (which got pulled out by my tire since the car is low) & the bumper completelly replaced & painted fresh, for pretty much FREE. Not to mention that I already have a spare M3 wheel in the garage + a brand new grill support for which I do not have to pay for. If all ends up well - by the time it is all said & done - I should have the car sitting properly & nicelly shined up in no time with money to spare. Will keep ya posted... __________________ SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD! Take lots of pictures as you go, if you find something not covered in the original estimate you can file a claim addendum to add it on, and usually unless its major, they will just pay it.
