I think I need something more age apropriate for being a social worker. Something about driving a sport dropped suspension touring international makes me feel like a kid, careless, irresponsible... I dont know maybe its just me. Im a young dude myself (25) and driving a flashy compact car people dont view me as a professional. As many of the socal ti members know, im looking into getting a e39 5er. | | | 09-08-2008, 10:02 PM | #4 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | aww dude. You know when you hit 30 something, you're going to want the car right back, and you'll most likely get a small fast lil car all over again LOL. Is it possible to keep the ti and get a 528? | | | 09-09-2008, 01:48 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Dallas, Georgia Posts: 14 | Dude, Don't do it!!!! I am 34 and sold the 84 318i that I drove in college. I litterally lost my mind over it. Fortunatly for me, I sold it to a tech of mine. He knew that I owned the car since High School and what it meant to me. After seeing me walking around the dealer disoriented as hell for months, he sold it back to me. If you want to look like a social worker, get a Tauras. Keep it .. For the love of Pete man! It is a friggin Estroil blue ti. I have never even seen one of those. | | | 09-09-2008, 02:55 AM | #6 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Seriously Bee, WTF are you thinking? I'm turning 32 in a couple of weeks and I wouldn't trade my Ti for anything. It's definitely a keeper. Heck, hold onto your youth as long as you can. I still surf, skate, cycle, run and I live with my dad, lol. I love it! Just save up for a 5er and keep the Ti. You'll regret it later if get rid of it. If you want to feel a little more classy, buy a set of 17" wheels and tires __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 09-09-2008, 03:26 AM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Dallas, Georgia Posts: 14 | I noticed the Ad pics are under a sign for LEMON St. Dude, that is either your subconscious Hoping to scare off potential buyers, or carma getting ready to hit you like a bag of hammers. Ask anyone who had a cool car at a young age. ALL of them will tell you about how they kick themselves for letting it go. I actually became re aquainted with an old friend from high school because he remembered my Henna 84. He didn't recognize me, but knew the car in an instant. 12 years after graduation, remembering my car? It was a pretty choice feeling. People stop me all the time to talk about it. I love telling people it has 300k and I logged 260 thousand of them. They become the most fun after they age. Keep it and buy something you dont care about as a daily. I keep my M3 as the beater. The 318is are like family " My buddies" It may seem immature to own it now. you won't regret keeping it. Someday, you will get behind the wheel when your hair has departed and grayed. You will still look through that windshield with 18 year old eyes. I never heared anyone say...."Damn, I'm so glad I dumped that 2002 back in 1986. It just made me feel so juvenile" | | | 09-09-2008, 03:45 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: long beach Posts: 182 | LOL. I live on Lemon street, damn I just realized that. Well, I guess it's a thing "WE" on the .org go through. We are all in common. Just going to meets, talking, taste in cars, and so on. I drove like 4 Honda CRX's before I got the TI and come to realize that most people who drive TIs owned a CRX in their lives. It's kind of a subliminal thing, It looks exactly like a CRX, but a BMW version. Hell, I've even has SERIOUS urges on getting a Mercede C230 Kompressor, but then i'll be in the same boat. I love my car, but as of right now I'm really anxious to get a e39. I'm telling you after a while it gets on your nerves when on your lunch break with a few girls from the office and you have to obstacle course into the back seats, small car, confusing manual seat adjusters for the ladies and such. As of right now I do want to keep it...so I guess if someone calls me they call me, if they don't, Heck...I'll still have my one of a kind ti. | | | 09-09-2008, 03:54 AM | #9 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by ashylarry I drove like 4 Honda CRX's before I got the TI and come to realize that most people who drive TIs owned a CRX in their lives. My 318ti is very much the BMW version of the Civic Si that I had. Black, black/red interior, sport package, hatchback, sunroof (the Honda actually had a moonroof that I liked better). Oh yeah... +1 on finding a way to keep the car. Maybe you can drop the insurance and store it for a couple of years so that you can afford a daily driver? __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Great cars, fun to drive, but nowhere near as fun as the Ti. The 318ti is the PERFECT balance between sport, class and economy. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 09-09-2008, 04:28 AM | #11 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | I also had an 89 CRX back a few years ago (12 to be exact!), keep the ti Bee! | | | 09-09-2008, 05:26 AM | #12 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | OK, this is getting a little creepy now. Court costs and other stuff prevented me from owning one. The guy that was going to see it to me was my friends bro so he was going to sell it to me for cheap, but i had to let it go. Yea keep the Ti i know as soon as im done with college I'll still be driving the Ti. | | | 09-09-2008, 08:59 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: long beach Posts: 182 | Thanks for all of the support. I will love driving and enjoy having the TI until it is sold. If no one buys it, i'll still have it. | | | 09-09-2008, 12:45 PM | #15 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | WOW I had a 93 accord as my first car, but I guess that doesn't count :shifty, The ladies in my area love the ti.
