As the car is in motion, my heat is perfect. At stop lights, etc., it goes cold. The temperature gauge is always fine. A/C works fine. If I turn from hot to cold air, it does get colder. Anyone have any ideas? | | | 03-10-2008, 01:54 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | we need to look at a few of our cars. me and Dave (elchicano) have a similar problem. there are a couple of reasons that can cause this HEAT problem to occur. most likely it is worn out cables under your dash. if i remember correctly...the cables in question are located behind/under the glove box. there are threads on how you can fix this. let me look and see what i can find. i'll be back. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-10-2008, 01:56 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-10-2008, 02:09 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 36 | Pheeew! I was worried that this was a symptom of a major/massive problem. Thanks! | | | 03-10-2008, 02:38 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Yea i have the same problem, but mine is weird. The center vents act up, the one to the left blows cool air while the right one is hot. But there's another thing you can look at before removing the glove box. We need to do some kind of meet because i know i might mess something up ehile doing this. | | | 03-10-2008, 02:45 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | It's the heater valve control that i was talking about. It's mentioned in the link sean put up. But i heard it's better to do the heater valve control before removing the glove box and go looking for the cable. So if anybody is interested let me know. | | | 03-10-2008, 02:52 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | i am __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-10-2008, 03:05 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | That's cool we can look at it when we go to your shop this weekend after we do you springs | | | 03-10-2008, 05:13 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I have the exact same problem. I had this symptom after I had replaced the thermostat, water pump, and fixed the bowden cable problem. Bleeding the system solved the problem, probably because there was air in the system due to lack of sufficient coolant and because I dumped a ton of coolant back into the reservoir while working on bleeding the system. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
