REMOVE THE ORIGINAL SINGLE BRACE! It is a safety issue. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 09-14-2007, 02:00 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | I see two weird things in those photos.. Why did you leave the stock brace on the car? It should be removed. It is also weird that you have them in a different set of holes. My x-brace attached to the same rear points as the stock brace. Also, what is the metal shim thing under the front driver side bolts? Why three bolts? | | | 09-14-2007, 03:23 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Did you get a factory part or ? In the event of a front end colision I think having both braces will prevent the engine from moving down and back thereby shifting force to the passenger compartment. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 09-14-2007, 03:27 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn I see two weird things in those photos..
