Default Need M42 or M44 motor

I know this is the wrong section but I thought it would get the most replys here since all of you have swapped and might have a I-4 motor laying around.

Jean just blew his M44 and was going to do a turbo this weekend. The motor threw a rod and made a big window in the block.

I've been working with Jean and he is a great guy so I thought I would post for him and see if anyone has a good M42 short block for sale for cheap. Prefer a 1995 M42 short block since it will take is crank sensor on the front but anything will be considered. We would even do a excellent condition M44 if available.

I will most like finance this since I trust Jean and he has been a long time friend and has no car right now.

Mods please let this stay for a few days since I feel this Sub-Forum will have the most I-4's sitting in the garage that someone might want to sell (most swap people don't look at the induction forum). We don't have a lot of money and are looking for a great deal. Sorry for being a cheap SOB but I want to be up front with everyone.

Thanks and PM or email jsmith50@tampabay.rr.com

Best, John Smith

I have an m42 and an m44 sitting in the garage, in my way. The m44, ran, sold it, they installed it, and it wouldnt run, so i sold them my six, so the m44 sits there. The m42 has maybe 215k on it and i didnt open it but somthing let go in the bottom end, but no block damage as far as i know.

Most good engine re builders have sources for blocks and cranks etc. Often fo rvery competitive pricing. They need to be able to replace major bits when they turn out to be un-rebuildable... Just another thought ,,, Have fun.

I have a complete m44 from a 96 with 134,000 miles on it here in atlanta. It just came out of the car today. I'll sell it for cheap if you can figure out how to get it down to gulf port.
