So here we go! My first car was a 2000 Honda Civic EX. I found it at a used car lot and fell in love with it. I was already into tuning and stuff and the car was sick. Was white and already had a set of enkei rims on it, aftermarket tails, and coilovers. Alas after I had fallen in love I find out it was manual. I had never driven manual before but I liked it so much I decided I would learn. We bought it for about 4k. Very discouraging at first thought I wouldn't be able to drive my car. I learned though and it became second nature. I loved the little thing. I could rip on it all I wanted haha. It was a Honda after all! I started to become interested in drifting... This is when my love for my car started to go. I still appreciated the transportation just wasn't as fun to drive anymore. Well on my way to band practice one day I was in somewhat of a hurry. I pulled out in front of somebody leaving my neighborhood (didn't double check my left :/ ) and they hit me on my drivers side wheel. Car was toast. I'll have pics up. So in search of a new car I was searching for stick shift and RWD. After searching through loads of POS 240's and old mustangs and 300zx's and finding nothing in decent shape for my price range of 3000 tops. My mother finds a 1995 BMW 318ti for 2000. Had 175k miles, manual 5 speed, and working A/C. Our original plan was to look at an MR2. But this was much better. We checked it out test drove it and bought it. It has been a great car. So far we have had some steering work done to it for about 1k because it had steering wobble on the left. One day I got a little frisky with the slideways action and bent a rim on a curb. Now I'm not really hard on my car just a little bit of spirited driving every now and then, and RARELY any sliding. Anyway after driving around on a crap rim for awhile I decided to upgrade out of my own pocket. The steering wheel would lock up after being shut off and after starting you would have to jiggle it to break it free and then could drive. So mom bought a steering column from a fellow member on here, and I bought new rims, tires, and lowering springs. It's been in the shop for a long time but our guy is busy. It should be done in the next 2 weeks though. He only gets to do a little here and there with all the customers he gets. Anyway I'm done rambling. Here's what you really want. There is no way I'm going to rice out my beautiful BMW! I am going to do the Ti right! :] Keeping the tails that are on it. I love them. I'm going to tint the top of the tails, I want to paint the car grey. I THINK it has an LSD. It doesn't get the ass out in first but in second it does very easy. Well if you have an open, drifting is a PITA. If your going to be JUST drifting it. Save some money and get the open diff welded. If you have an LSD, well you got lucky haha __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 04-20-2012, 11:41 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Florida Posts: 404 | Nah it's gonna be a daily driver too. | | | 04-21-2012, 04:48 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by Breticus I want to paint the car grey. | I wouldn't. Cordoba will grow on you, some call it red, some burgundy, some call it purple. I call it an awesome color! __________________ -Alex 1995 Bmw 318ti - Cordoba rot | | | 04-21-2012, 01:19 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Florida Posts: 404 | Haha I got time to see if it will grow on me. I don't have enough money for much of anything right now.
