The bushing is sealed with two O-rings and apparently they became old and brittle causing oil to leak out the side of the block. It seems the bushing for $8 and the filter housing gasket for $3 will repair the problem. I'll get these ordered today and installed on the weekend. My question is, there is a rubber block that attaches to the steering rack crossmember and sits between the crossmember and the oil pan, I broke one of the mounts that hold this in place during the cleaning process of the above repair, is this rubber block necessary? If so, what's a good source for this part, save the dealer? I had removed mine because it was so infiltrated with oil, I personally never had an issue without it! | | | 02-05-2011, 06:43 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | I know exactly what you are talking about. I removed mine about 2.5 years ago and have had no issues at all. | | | 02-08-2011, 03:31 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Huachuca, Arizona Posts: 4 | All is well... Everything went together fine, no leaks, no rubber block. It's actually easier to get in with the pressure washer without that block present. Thanks All...! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
