Default shift boot plastic ring

Just finished my auto to 5speed conversion and need the last little bits. I don't have a shift knob yet so ill need to find one of those. But I do have the boot and plastic ring on the boot from a 318i not sure what year. It doesnt fit into the console hole that well at all. its too small in two corners. i was wondering if the shift boot is ti specific or year specific? Thanks guys!

P.S. Any suggestions on shift knobs? which ones to look? for which are cheaper?

Shift boot is ti specific. A lot of people like the ZHP knob.

I have a a used black leather 5-speed knob that needs a home. It is in nice shape and I will let it go for $15.00 shipped.

You may be able to do better than that elsewhere, but if not, let me know.

The molded plastic shift knobs are pretty cheap (new) if you don't care about leather...
