Default DASC Finally! (Start of build details)

Have had a DASC sitting in my garage for a few years, bought from someone on this forum. Have several other cars and motorcycles (projects) and do not have a garage space I can work in, so this project has been on the back burner for a long time. But as a major home renovation is about to start, we are trying to clear out excess storage and crap from all the places we may need to temporarily house things, and tie up as many projects as we can. (And i also had a ton of parts I have been collecting over the years) Years back I tried to sell the car here (car plus uninstalled DASC) and while everyone wanted me to part the DASC, I just didn't want to unload the SC as I would then have a car I lost interest in, and be a tougher sell. I had redone parts of the car over the 4-5 yrs I have owned the car; Vaders, HK speakers/sound system (huge waste) 300mm vented brake upgrade, HR Sport/Bilsteins, "sport" sway bars (all the misc reinforcement plates, etc.....) But still we all know its a slow car, even if fun to drive. But I finally came across a bmw tech who does work on the side (and has a lift) who would be able to install it. Since the car had 174k miles on it, I had him run a leak down and compression test, and since the numbers were very strong, I had him proceed to install. (And did a bunch of other stuff easily accessible because of the lift) Cooling system overhaul, rebuilt steering rack, motor mounts, xbrace, valve cover, dash lights, FI O-rings..... So while I dropped the car off in November, I got it back late last night. Didn't go crazy driving it home as it was beginning to rain and the super tight steering took some getting used to. (previously rack was beyond shot). Hoping the rain holds off some today and I can begin to flog it. It revved very quickly (or at least the engine revving actually translated to speed developing) and the sound/whine was also interesting. Sounded neat, but also a bit disturbing that the same motor sounds completely different. I will get some pictures up later today if the sun comes out. Car is still far from perfect. A touch of rust on rear wheel wells, headliner sagging. But its interesting again.

Nice man. I think I remember when that particular DASC went up for sale near Philly and I'm still kicking myself for not driving up and getting it. Glad it's going to good use though.

Default Pic....

Surely it looks like every other DASC ever installed, but just to throw it out there. Still have to deal with the DISA and fault code, but will get to it in time.
