It's also a bit lighter too. | | | 03-19-2009, 06:11 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m Me neither. Holding out for a six-speed... I could not pass it up. Does your manual cover what drive shaft I will need with that? I think it does. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! It was easier that way... | | | 12-15-2011, 04:16 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2011 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 16 | link? or are you selling this manual? | | | 12-15-2011, 04:23 PM | #8 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! The 4 bolt driveshaft that is. | | | 01-17-2012, 09:28 PM | #10 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Quote: Originally Posted by sooky123 I'm just wondering, do you guys know if the 328 and m3 driveshaft with the ZF tranny are the same? Typically 328 ZFs are less abused then M3 ZFs previously owned by boyracer kids I used a M | | | 01-18-2012, 07:30 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: Delray Beach, Florida Posts: 38 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_Hatchback should be. cross check the part #s to be sure. I have a ZF trans from a low mileage s54 m coupe that I'll be using with my M52 b25 swap. From my research both driveshafts from the M3 and 328 are the same length but they do have different part numbers. I believe that's from the 4 bolt and 6 bolt difference. So it should be okay. I have a 328 driveshaft that is 4 bolt so I'm assuming it should work, the only thing I'm worried about is that the guibo on the trans is probably thicker than the non m. So I might have to shorten the driveshaft. I'll chime in when I have it done, which should be soon! | | | 01-18-2012, 07:38 PM | #12 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Just replace the guibo with a matching one for the drive shaft | | | 01-18-2012, 10:14 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | I got a ZF in my swap __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 01-19-2012, 12:11 AM | #14 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: San francisco Posts: 39 | I'm gonna toss in the m3 tranny that I have for now.
