battery should have nothing to do with it  the key is the problem maybe?  __________________

the car is a salvage title car, the guys at bmw says i need to buy an entire lock set with new EWS computer and receiver... which they have to install, but they wont install in on my car with out it being registered in my name, the state of kansas needs the car running before they can inspect it for stolen parts in order to title the car in your name... all i have now is a salvage title car with a salvage title signed over in my name... im screwed | | | | | 10-08-2007, 02:49 PM | #8 | | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 |
Could you buy a used EWS with matching key, cylinder, etc and have it installed by an expert? __________________

The EWS box in under the glove box. Its the one with the purple connector.
You needed to have the EWS module, ECU and key from the car the motor came out of to avoid a trip to the dealer.
You don't need to pull the ignition cylinder, you just need to swap the chip in the keys. __________________
