You can't avoid everything, or always catch it in time to steer clear. I'm putting an M-tech bumper on my car, it sits much higher on the lip. Most of the roads I drive on are good, and I know areas to avoid. There is of course the occasion that I'm in a foreign area and I might scrape, but the lip is very rugged and securley fastend to the car. If in the super rare case it were to get taken off I could get another one for pretty cheap. | __________________ 1998 (July) 318ti, 5-spd OEM Armrest Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD50 CD Player/Compact Drive MP3 Player Diamond Audio 5.25" rear speakers Navman ICN 530 GPS BMWALARM.COM (with comfort settings) after market alarm system Magnecor 8.5mm wires M-Z3 Shifter/Momo Knob Burlwood Dashboard Stromung Exhaust X-brace Racing Dynamics Front Strut Bar Carbonio C.A.I. 17" Rial Rims Vader Seats/Heated/Lumbar Support M-tech Steering Wheel/Front Sway Bar/Front & Rear Bumper Depos/w 6500K Angel Eyes/6000K HIDs Clear Corners M3 Mirrors UUC Light Weight Flywheel/M5 Clutch/M3 Clutch Slave E28 3.46 LSD/Mcoupe Cover/E30 Flanges & Halfshafts UUC S.S. The VW lip is super strong PE and can hold up to a severe beating. Believe me, I have has many slammed dubs in my day and the only lips I had problems with cracking/braking were the Italian knock offs. If you go OEM it should be ok. I might put an M bumper on mine too. I actually plan on doing a whole M swap in the future. | | | 09-20-2006, 08:59 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: irvine Posts: 142 | Quote: Originally Posted by wasabinuki What is the Reiger lip made of? You need the left and right side @ $11 each. | | | 09-20-2006, 11:43 PM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Thousand Oaks, California Posts: 343 | Quote: Originally Posted by L84THSKY My Reiger lip sits that low, I already messed it up. It handles like it's on rails and the ride is awesome - very firm, but not jerky or bouncy in any way. I can also adjust the ride height. It's perfect and way better than my buddy's ti that has Bilsteins and Eibach springs. Get coilovers or at least a matched cup kit and you'll be a happy camper. | | | 09-21-2006, 07:12 PM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Im thinking about upgrading from my H&R-race/Bilstein combo. From what you describe, it sounds exactly like what Im looking for, and Ive always wanted the option of adjustability as well as the ability to drop the ti's ass end down properly. Even with the H&R race that im running, you only get a 1.2" drop in the rear . Nice Ti BTW, speed bumps are your new worst enemy. __________________ | | | 09-21-2006, 08:49 PM | #25 | Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Toledo, OH Posts: 60 | Awesome car. Good on you.
