I'm not much of a mechanic, so I'm looking for advice please.

I have the 98 318ti M sport

I just had my suspension checked and the mechanic told me that my left rear shock is bad and my front struts are leaking.

If I purchased a set of billstein coilovers would that basically be all that i need for the repairs? Could i purchase billstein shocks and another companies springs? If so, would i need to replace anything else?

I'm probably going to purchase everything on my own and have my mechanic do the work.

Thanks in advance!
