I have been looking around ebay but they are going for about retail price. Does anybody have one they are willing to part with. I'm trying to find one that's cheaper than retail. | | | 11-11-2008, 12:18 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Iowa City, IA Posts: 57 | Wouldnt it be possible to simply snag one off a salvaged Z3 or 3x8is?, as long as the front is straight? I cant imagine it would be that hard to find. | | | 11-11-2008, 12:26 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Find a (rear-end) wrecked E36 soft-top. It's originally a stock part for later year convertibles. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 11-11-2008, 01:48 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | I thought there was a BF.c vendor that was selling them for $100 w/o hardware? Just wait for someone to sell one, it'll show up. I got mine $100, brand new locally. Or, if you can find the scrap yard that buys my car, it's just got a dent, otherwise it's good as new! I wonder where my car is right now __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . Go to tischer BMW and buy it from them. They sell it for a little over 100$ with the hardware... 160$ with the hardware is the retail list price, and you can get it much cheaper than that.. You'll be able to find better deals, but you will have to wait for them to pop up. | | | 11-11-2008, 04:55 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Iowa City, IA Posts: 57 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn Because there is nothing to really wear out on an x-brace a lot of people sell them for very close to retail. Does that not apply to the Ti? | | | 11-11-2008, 05:37 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | All non M3s need the hardware. Even some M3s do. The nutserts were never pre installed on a non ///M car, and some early 95's didnt have the nutserts installed from the factory either. All E36 M3's have nutserts pre installed from late 95 through the end of the production run in 99. So I've been told ^ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
