Default Air Bag/SRS Light illuminated - update

Bought my 318ti with the airbag light on....

reading into it it seems a common thing and it doesnt bother me to much.

Had the fault scanned on a snap on macine

"drivers side pretensioner" at fault

tried to delete it, it came straight back.

any one had the same fault,

My plan is to remove the seat have a poke round, see if theres any loose plugs etc.

just wondering if any one has had a similar fault and how they cured it.

cheers

The switch in the latch typically goes bad.
Only way I know to fix it is to replace that section of the seat belt.

I had the same fault on mine, when i actually hooked it to the dealers computer it fixed it for good. (my scanner would clear it and it would come back) I had an emissions issue I couldnt figure out and had to take it to them so they could smoke the intake and find my leak so it was a "free" computer scan.

**edit** it wasnt the dealer really but its a BMW place and they might as well be the dealer...

Yes, you'll need to clear the faults with the airbag tool/scanner. Unlike the Check Engine Light, the airbag light will not go out on it's own if the fault no longer exists.
