I haven't done the HIDs. My car came with Euro lenses which was a nice improvement of the stock crappy ones. I just recently installed H1 Osram Silverstar 55w bulbs. A little better.

I'm all for better lighting. I love driving my wife's MINI with Xenons.

I have HIDs in both Headlights and fog lights and the difference is un beateable. 4100K gives the brightest light output. Installation is very easy.
We have a promo on HID conversion kits for the holiday period: 10% off the reduced price on conversion kits. Here's the link:

I have 6000k low beams. I love them. Highly recommended.

In cities, they make a world of difference since your contrast is blown out from the light pollution.

I actually prefer ECE ellipsoids with halogen bulbs, but my night vision is pretty good. At least compared with the HIDs in our Benz.

There are situations where I need more light (driving on backroads to my parent's house in PA), so I've got 100W halogens up top. They don't work in the bumper, because the road is up & down. They're also useful for late-night skate sessions, but I get a lot--a LOT of weird looks.

Thumbs up HID is the way to go

I have 5000K HID for the low beams and the fog lights. One of my favorite upgrades.

if you have stock headlights does the HID still have a huge improvement? I mean I would assume so anyways....plus how hard is it go install? Does it come with easy instructions for someone like me who is clueless on the process? And how long does it usually take to install?

Yes,

Even with the stock headlights the improvement is very noticeable. The output is like doubling the stock halogen. They run much cooler and only at 35W. There is no halogen lightbulb that can match HIDs, no matter what type of marketing the companies push.

The install is quite easy. It takes me an hour (including removing headlight housings, mounting ballasts on bumper reinforcement for a factory -like installation, re-installing headlight housings and then re-aligning them). The instructions included are very straight forward. The most important thing is a proper ground.

Cheers,

I had my healights changed with Hella Celis plus 12000k HIDs and they look very nice and they also light up the hole neighbourhood.

The improvement is huge and the intallation is pretty easy. Just need a little bit of patience to do the install right and to make a nice clean job.

In case my previous post was confusing, I didn't mean to infer this. My use required a completely different pattern and spread that no headlight can match. It's also illegal to use on public roads

EDIT: Er, I mean you're totally right. I didn't mean to infer the opposite.

Finals make me stupid.

You in college? Most uni's allow you to reschedule one if there are three on the same day.
