I recently purchased a 95 Ti that had not been started in 4 year. When I try to start the car the starter spins but does not engage. The previous owner said the car started fine before he stopped driving it. I installed a new battery and the car does start when pushed. Any help would be appreciated. I had a similar problem with my 98ti, at time it would not start, it would turn but not grab. It ended up being the starter solenoid so I ordered a starter for $175.00 @ Partstrain.com I installed it but it was not a good fit, made funny sound when starting. So I took the OEM starter and had it rebuilt for $75.00 and reinstalled it. I still have the new one somewhere in my basement. It’s a bit@! To install the starter, very easy if you have access to a lift. I do so installing mine was as easy as changing the motor oil. Must remove oil dipstick to remove the starter from the bottom.

If you get it out of the car, replace it. Its not worth the time taking it out again. __________________
