leaded petrol in TI

I bought my Ti from a mechanic, and he recommended to fill the tank with leaded petrol every 3-4th tank because the std and premium unleaded fuels cause some sort of carbon buildup. has anyone heard of this?
i really don't want to put leaded petrol in when MBW recommend premium.

besides, doesn't premimum contain cleaners and other additives to keep the system clean?

I didn't think you could still buy leaded fuel anymore. I thought it was banned. Don't do it, really really bad for the environment.

leaded fuel isn't bad for the envirnment, it's bad for your cat. And not having a cat is bad for the environment.

Anyways, if you've still got your cat on the stay away from leaded fuels. And find a new mechanic, this one doesn't know what he's talking about.

He is an idiot. The lead will ruin the O2 sensors in short order. I've seen an O2 killed at the track in one session when 5 gal of leaded gas was accidentally popured in.

BMW and Porsche, Ferrarri all reccomend Techron be run 1 time between each oil change prefferably the last tank or so of fuel before you change the oil.

I've done this for years and when I've torn down the engines they are nice and clean in the piston head areas prone to carbon.

now that i think about it, and read the manual, i think i may have misunderstood the dude.

His exact words was 'fill it up with super every 3rd or 4th tank'.
where i come from (australia), we use Super to describe leaded petrol.
but after reading the manual today (i just picked up my car today) super is referred to supereuro petrol, which is the equiv of premium unleaded.

which would make sense if i'm using normal unleaded, and filling it up with premium to 'clean out' the fuel system.

and yes, the manual does say that using leaded will indeed kill the o2 sensors and cat.

Race fuels are leaded. Really bad for the environment (your lungs), yes. Makes lots of power, YES! But the motor must be tuned to that type of fuel.

Some, but not all, race fuels are leaded.
I just wanted to clarify that.

Using lead in fuel is a cheaper way to increase the octane.

Just of question, when you race over there do you use aviation fuel??? We do here in most cars here, on the track and on gravel.
