After doing some reading on some Boxters i ran into this page http://boxster.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page and thought it would be a great thing if we could maybe put together something similar, it would take a bit of work but would def be something useful rather than searching archived data from the boards. What do you guys think? | | | 07-05-2008, 03:49 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | meh, seems like a lot of info but its already available. just use the search feature | | | 07-05-2008, 04:04 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | We use wiki's at work and they're pretty useful. It'd be cool to have a wiki to refer to for the DIY's, torque specs, part numbers and other common diagnostic measures. But until that gets put in place, searching it is! __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . That way the wiki is generated by all the users, rather than just one. It would spread the work load and I could do it when I'm bored at work __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . I originally wanted it so people could use their username and password from here, but I was not able to get it to work. I'll try to get it to work over the weekend if there are people willing to help. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-05-2008, 08:25 AM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | I'm down. | | | 07-05-2008, 08:54 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: New Orleans Posts: 970 | ill throw in some help too, my dad owns a bmw shop, so we can get lots of info or pictures if you need anything __________________ ^being rebuilt^ until then: daily car: 96' Blue DASC'd ti with koni coilovers slowly progressing... weekend car: 85 1/2' 944 Porsche no a/c, p/s, gutted cat, loud as hell exhaust, loud as hell sound system | | | 07-05-2008, 11:50 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Hawaii Posts: 124 | Id be glad to help, most of us here have gotten lots of info off there that im sure we wouldn't mind putting in a little time to get this going. | | | 07-05-2008, 01:10 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | I'll contibute with what I got. | | | 07-05-2008, 03:23 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | I'll lend a hand whenever I can __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 07-05-2008, 03:26 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | For me to integrate the wiki with the people's usernames, some usernames will need to be changed. The wiki does not allow spaces and certain characters. Only letters, numbers and underscore. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-11-2008, 04:59 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | looking at it seems like a big setup mess lol. but once its set up i think it can only help. i definitely think it would be a useful tool. I'm willing to help where I can. how far have you gotten? And to the spaces thing, could you set it up so that people who have spaces in their name get changed to underscores or something for the wiki? __________________ 1997 TI Sport, Silver | | | 07-11-2008, 12:09 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by nyle I'm willing to help where I can. how far have you gotten? I don't think spaces are an issue anymore with the latest wiki version. I'm still having a problem having people using the same username and password. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-11-2008, 03:32 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | i have a couple exams today then a couple free hours, i'll see if i can figure out whats up. what language is it written in?
