whoa whoa dude you totally took that the wrong way.i meant that mine with just a chip seems nearly as fast just from watching the video. i know a 10 horsepower chip isnt going to do as much as a charger, i just thought that after spending thousands of dollars, it would be a pretty wickid car. i couldnt tell if you were pushing it or not, but i just had to assume you were since you made a video and all.that being said, it didnt seem all that fast in the video. like i said, ive never even seen a supercharger on a ti or rode in one but ive been in many other cars that got forced induction and i always saw huge gains. im talking about a turbo cavalier, supercharged jetta, a few corrado's and countless others. i honestly wasnt saying that the chip is better but just that i wasnt seeing the big gain i expected. the author of the thread was wanting to see the power of a supercharged ti, was he not? im still wondering though, were you pushing it hard at all?

I think Dusten's video is fine. It may not show the DASC at its extreme, but it's definitely not weak. A TMS Conforti chip in a ti adds maybe about an additional 10 horses and 20 lb.ft. of torque. The DASC provides a lot more than that.

I think you should ride in a DASC ti to get a more accurate feel for what it can do, because a video isn't going to do it.

Default Hard to tell by just watching a video

Dusten video it is pretty cool. However, there is no way that a ti with any chip it is even close to a DASC. Trust me, you can tell the difference. It is like night and day. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree with Moku, to have a real good idea, you need to ride in a DASC ti to gauge the power difference.

We need a video of a DASC ti vs. stock ti, side by side, racing. Maybe on a drag strip?

Kelso- what is the weight:hp ratio of a stock VR6 Corrado? My wife had a '92 beauty a while back. Weren't they around 168 crank hp? Maybe 180hp? Not sure of the weight.

A three horse race would be good:
stock vs DASC vs M3 swap, hard to organise I know but it would put everything into perspective.

My car is always available to "test drive". All you have to do is find your way to Wisconsin or Chicago.

Maybe I'll be able to find a stock ti and a M3 swap that are willing to do it against my DASC down in Santa Barbara at the Bimmerfest this weekend....

I will let you know.

My ti dynoed at 125/119 with a conforti chip that was aggressive to the point that it wouldn't run properly on 91 gas. I'd guess the DASC is a good deal faster than that.

i dont own a ti (318is), but having an M42 i guess counts. anyway, is it true that after the engine gets pretty hot, the DASC loses some performance? i read this either from this forum or bf.c, but i just need to confirm if the loss is noticeable. im excited about the idea of having DASC on my M42 and im hoping to grab one soon!!!

I haven't noticed a difference, but then again, I may not have been paying attention.

It hasn't happened to me. However, when we did the DASC installation we changed the thermostat. I'm using a lower temperature thermostat.

again i wasnt claiming that my chip was capable of outpowering any form of forced induction, i actually am quite knowledgable on stuff like that. i just expected a lot of power.then again, i was watching a video of an m3 gtr supercharged at nurburgring around that same time so it probably skewed my perception a bit.

i dont know the power to weight ratio of corrados but g60 supercharged ones have like 160 stock and i think vr6 corrados had 190 stock. my brother had 2 g60 corrado's and he was running about 13.3 at the 1/4 mile. that motor was then put into my good friends jetta which weighs less but is geared different and he's done a few more things to it( replacing the clutch right now, then selling it) and i wouldnt be surprised if he hit high 12's.
