Default '95 318 ti buying advice

Hi Folks

Just thought i would post here looking for some advice concerning a 1995 ti with 110,000 miles. It's boston green in decent condition. It's a candian car so it has minimal rust issues but nothing major. It has the 15" alloys, sunroof, cruise control, leather steering wheel and shift knob. I am thinking it has the active pckg. The engine runs wheel, although the front of the engine has oil residue(is this common), the owners said it was from a leaking valve cover gasket that has now been replaced. It has cloth interior, the headliner is sagging slightly. It has some water leakage in the rear passenger corner(right) of the hatch, in the plastic corner compartment(any idea as to where the water could be coming from). Any thing specific i should be looking for in regards to the the engine, tranny, suspension etc. The clutch pedal is a little stiff and seems to grab high(is this normal or is it in need of a clutch soon). the price is $3000 safitied and e-tested, which i think is decent, any advice or suggestions are needed and appreciated. Just wondering as to how good the fuel economy is on these cars as i am buying it to be a commuter

Please provide some advice or suggestions, concerning anything you think i should know in regards to the ti's

I test drove one that acted just like this. I THINK it means the clutch is going bad, but I've never driven any others so I'm not sure if any of this is just the way the 318ti acts.

Any others have some thoughts?

So what is the verdict? Do all 318ti's have a heavy clutch pedal and grab high or is this a sign of a dying clutch?

MY 95 has what I would call a stiff pedal for the type of vehicle.

This vintage has issues with shuddering clutch, its real common and it happens when it gets hot.

Mine engages fairly high I would say.. (157K Miles)

I would say the ti clutch is harder to press than my E30 and Mini. My first ti that I got brand new was also like that.

The clutch pedal is plastic, its kind of flexy, and I think as it ages the bushing wears and it binds up under pressure.
