yeah, i am also very interested in this. it is about time that i re-paint my bumper anyway, so it gives me a reason to remove it to paint it. where did you get the ABS? i am curious. i wonder who would sell that locally and cheap.

thanks for the idea. my car has been missing that piece for like 3 years. haha

Once cut you can use a propane torch to just heat the edges and rub with a chunk of scotch bright to make it smooth.

Practice on some scraps.
Do this outside far from flammables...

Well, time to bump Cedric's old thread for a DIY Underpanel, but take it one step further.

I just picked up a never installed JTD underpanel from a bf.c member for cheap, but both ti's could use some help in this area.

So I sourced the following to replicate the JTD panel;

A large sheet of corrugated plastic from Home Depot - $13.00
nuts, bolts, and washers - $3.00

Black spray paint (already on my work bench)

Pics coming tomorrow!

Please take some measurements for me!

I have the same project coming up when I get back from college. I've got a few sheets of this stuff left after my door panel project.

And now for my version of a Cedshield - Let's call it a Wolfpanel

Getting ready;

Off comes the bumper:

Test fit the JTD for my template:

Draw up the template;

Install new Fender Liners;

Cut out with my minor changes;

Very impressive work, reminds me of my mock up fun. We should go into business, Cedshield and Woflpanel

Paint it and punch out the needed holes;

Start fitting it to the bumper;
Notice that it goes on the top in the front part and goes under at the ends;

This bumper has been scraped and beat up a little bit, so I made the ends wider to accommodate 2 extra attachment points on the ends and also added 2 extra mounting spots (4 total) in the front section... This panel isn't going anywhere and is re-enforcing the lower bumper as well;

Mount it in place;
notice that my design eliminates the need for the "Pork Chops" as well...

Yes, I know, I don't have any brake ducts... Those were missing when I got the car.

I neglected to post my v2 version of the Cedshield, looking for the pictures now. I think it's about time I get serious about making these for anyone interested

The aftermath;

All Clean!

All told, this was less than $20. I do have another identical panel I cut out, which I will try and take measurements of for prosperity... I don't have a CAD program to try and make a template with however.

Good stuff, I just didn't see the reason to spend $200 on something similar
