Seriously though, what were you doing when the CEL came on? You're going to have to give us more information if you want someone to be able to help. Good luck. __________________ | | | 03-19-2009, 08:30 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | i put a K+n air filter on instead o fthe stock airbox | | | 03-19-2009, 08:35 PM | #4 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | It will be simpler to have this discussion in one thread, so use the other one in the "Air Filters / Intakes" section. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Not sure of the remedy. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 03-20-2009, 03:56 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Long Beach, SoCal Posts: 373 | If everything is fine and you wouldnt mind. You could just take out the bulb from the back of your cluster. Not that difficult to remove if you excercise patience. But if you dont fix the sensor issue....your gonna have huge headache when smog time comes around. good luck! __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII | | | 03-20-2009, 04:36 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Dallas,Texas Posts: 32 | | | | 03-21-2009, 03:03 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Long Beach, SoCal Posts: 373 | Quote: Originally Posted by toie36 | wow, that is crazy if it really works. good link. __________________ 1998'SportR.I.P. 1995 Sport AlpineIII | | | 03-21-2009, 04:17 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: san jose Posts: 425 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 318ti NY how do i shut my check engine light off? | hi i run a mobile diagnostic service i deal with problems like this all the time .most likely you unpluged the air flow metter at some time to do your install with the battery cable on it stored a memory default unplug the bat negative turn on ur head lamps to drain all the power in ur ecu then plug it pack if no lights on ur good if u still have check engine u need to run a scanner to see what open loop you have in ur system ...hope that helped you out .... | | | 03-21-2009, 08:30 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Dallas,Texas Posts: 32 | WORKS It does work. I have done it several times. It is pretty cool. I did it on my 325is, and it spat out codes for the o2 sensor and something else ( can't remember) so I changed it and...PRESTO check engine light gone. The key is to get the timing right...it is easier on the e30's. | | | 03-21-2009, 08:38 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: new york Posts: 511 | got i tfigured out funny thing though my friend works at auto zone and the check engine light was still on when i got there when he came out side to check it out i turned teh car to teh on position and tehere was no check engine light anymore but the code still came out p1011 for the air temp senor lol | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
