Default 17" or 18" on stock suspension ???

Hey peepz,

Maybe it's a stupid question but I'm wondering if I can put 18" or 17" rims on my BMW 318ti, with stock suspension. Or do I need to change or add something ? I ask this because the last time dhat I was in the garage there were 19", and I tried to place one just for the test, but the wheel cam against the suspension (cup where spring lays in). Is this the same with 17" or 18" ??? please help me...

Thx

do a search on wheels, there are loads of threads on recommended sizes. most people on here are running 17 or 18 inch wheels with no modifications.

I got 16's meh, i will upgrade to 18 later, BTW my car is lowered.

I think 18 is the max you would want to go.

it's not the diameter of the wheel that causes problems in most cases, it's the width of the tire combined with the offset of the wheel. If you experienced rubbing against suspension I'd say the offset was wrong.

Also, with larger wheels, you should get lower profile tires so that the outside diameter of the assembly is close to stock.

Many have 17" and 18" with stock suspension. No problem but of course modifying the suspenion will make the bigger wheels look even better!
