Talking back from the bodyshop

so far they've buffed the scratches in my doors, installed the hood and eyelids and painted the trunk handle, since they had a busy schedule I took it early and I'm going to drop it off again on Thursday so they can install the roof spoiler and roundel, plus they're going to repaint the trunk lid where I scratched it swapping my roundel and removing the 318ti badge

I've also grown to truly appreciate how small and nimble my ti is after driving this while my ti was in the shop:

Brendan;

The hood fitment doesn't look 100%, it looks like it was mounted too far back (or is too short?). When you go back on Thursday, see if they can adjust the mounting points so the hood lines up better in the front...

And I am totally with you about driving land yachts like that caddy... I drive huge stretch town cars and SUV's all day, then hop into the ti to scoot home.. So much more fun!

I figure I can just re-clear if that happens, if not, I'll just paint it then

yeah the fit isn't perfect, I'm thinking it's the hood itself because there's gaps all around, they're not horrible so I think I can live with it

I do like driving the Caddy though, gets plenty of looks driving around town

I would contact the vendor and discuss the fitment issues and send them pics... Can't hurt to talk to them and see if there is something they could do... The hood will be a focal point on the car, so you want it to look decent. Still, see if the shop can remount it a little further forward, it would improve the overall look...

Just my $.02

Nice Brandon! You need a black and white or CF roundel on that hood (and trunk too). The blue doesn't cut it, but it's hard to see if it really is blue.

oh yeah, red leather interior, white wall tires: sure most of the rust has been poorly bondoed and spray painted by the PO and a coupe trim pieces and one fender skirt are attached with self-tapping screws but that just adds character

So Good!! All you need is a drop and a cf spoiler! And maybe paint the roof black.

thanks everyone, I'll be sure to take plenty of pics of the spoiler when it's put on, only problem is that I get it back from the bodyshop tomorrow but I'm having my wisdom teeth pulled in the morning so I'll be all doped up on painkillers

the drop's coming, I'll be stocking up on suspension parts over the winter and installing them in the spring

the hood is made by Carbon 8 and I got it from euro-dyne.com, they're located in the US though so it might be expensive to ship
