Default Best Headunits?

Well, I want to buy a headunit for around 100-250 maybe 300 if well worth it.
What do you guys have in your cars?
What do you think is best/looks good?

I've got a JVC unit, never had a problem with CDs skipping and it has a cord to connect an ipod, the buttons also light up red so it matches the stock lighting, can't find it now but the model number is KD-PDR30

After having expensive head units in my other cars, I went out and bought a Dual headunit with Bluetooth, USB and HD Radio for $50 after Mail in Rebate, its kinda plasticy but I LOVE It.

Head units make remarkably little difference in stereo system performance- especially if you are using a separate amp. So pick what looks good to you with features you like.

Personally, I think nearly all aftermarket head units look crappy. There's nothing made that is simple, black, and understated that actually looks good with the dash in a BMW. Instead practically everything is big, blingy, bright, and cheap-crappy plasticy looking. It's hard to find something that doesn't cheapen the look of the dash. (I want a flashy looking head unit about as much as I want flashy looking heating and air conditioning controls.)

But if you like look-at-me bling you're in luck- there's plenty of it out there.

K, rant over.

Yeah, I was looking into Kenwoods, but I have no clue which brand I want.

I didn't know that, I will ask my dad and friends that know more about this than I do. But as for the flashy thing, I just wanted a nice HU that will last me awhile. Cause that's the reason I'm paying this much is because I just want to buy it once, and have it last me for awhile. Cause when I sell this car I can just put the aftermarket Sony HU that it came with back in it and take mine out.

I usually try to find a headunit that matches the interior lights. I've had a few brands in the past, from sony, clarion, kenwood, blaupunkt and alpine. Out of all of them I have come to appreciate alpine headunits the most.

+1 on the CD43. Get the DICE HD Radio/iPod adapter/Aux in unit and you'll have yourself a great and stock system.

I have an Alpine 9852 with Ipod Hookup. Having digital media is imperative these days. But who needs CD's now? If I were going to buy a new one today, I would seriously consider this one:

Black body, color screen, and you can use red or blue illumination. Alpine sound quality is great. You will like it even more if you have quality speakers.
