Default new to me 98 318ti

hi all, this is my 1998 318ti active with 178k miles.

its a little dirty in these pics

just removed the seats and did a full interior clean out this weekend

also fitted my lukebox subwoofer box from my old e30 325is. it fits perfect between the rear shock towers

so far ive done:
bilstein sports
shifter rebuild
headunit / front speakers
subwoofer
valve cover gasket
vacuum lines
intake elbows
and ive got a full set of poly bushings and an e30 3.73S in the garage

im desperately looking for a set of OE gray E36 floor mats too so if anyone knows where i could find some let me know!!

forgot I had an account on here, figured id update this.

Enjoyed the car in its stock form for a little, put it on bilstein sports pretty quick as the old rear shocks were blown

Did powerflex RTABs + CABs + differential bushing + subframe bushings

Put it on some 16x8 et20 Mille Miglias

Finally got around to putting my H&R sport springs on

Also got a set of OE euro tails

Thats about it since my last update!
I also did engine + trans mounts, a medium case 3.73 LSD, a radiator, thermostat, water pump, all brakes, braided steel brake lines, new fluid, oil changes, e90 floor mats, a ZHP shift knob, spark plugs, multiple coolant bleeds , had the fenders rolled slightly, and put about 17,000 miles on it.

Its kinda slow

Looking good! Even with a swap they're kinda slow. So enjoy it for what it is.

Nice work! looking good. I think those Dove Grey interiors are underrated. The "sport" seats are worth it if you can find some.

I put an aluminum block M52 in one of my TI's and I think I like the 4cyl. car better. I don't know why, maybe just the color. And agree with Zek, they both are slow.

I’ve never actually seen a sandgrau sport interior car. It’s not dove gray actually, I wish it were though it’d be a lot easier lol

3.73 diff... The 4.44 would pep it up a bit.

But, still slow.

Ha I’m already turning 4800 rpm at 80, can’t imagine what going any higher would be like

I was getting to 60 in second gear at the redline. I think you’ll be okay with three more gears.

The motor has no torque so it needs gear. Torque is what you feel on the butt Dino; not horsepower.

Yeah, its a balance. Its my only car and I'll drive 600 miles in a weekend so it just gets buzzy with higher gearing on the highway. Would rather add two cylinders and a 6th gear haha

I have one of those kits, as well as the Dragon M3 to get trim bits…

Maybe someday I’ll build it!

It’s a great kit, if you ever get around to building it take a look at USCP’s website. It’s a small Ukrainian company that casts a lot of scale BMW stuff in resin, they make parts to build E36 tourings and have everything to build an accurate M3 or sport package ti

I was just going through the box of unbuilt models, and I have the ti and M3 GT, both Dragon. So if I ever do it, I’ll have all I need to do my car as built.
