I just want to do a comparison with others who had done a 1/4 mile drag with an auto 318. So post your time! thanks! my 318i ran a 17.4s on steelies, which seems very slow. | | | 05-13-2007, 03:06 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Los Alamos, NM Posts: 344 | I ran a 16.6. I had it in manual mode, put it in neutral, revved while I shifted it to first, and when the tranny finally swapped gears, I had almost pulled a wheelie. pretty good for a little 4 cyl. | | | 05-13-2007, 03:46 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 20 | ^ so you actually did a neutral drop? Thats pretty bad on the tranny. I didn't use the manual mode cause of the delay when you shift, so it's hard to time it perfectly to the redline. | | | 05-13-2007, 03:48 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 20 | I assume your car is stock? How much does a Ti weigh? You're almost a second faster than me. Anyone else? | | | 05-13-2007, 03:50 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | The first time I ran I had my system in the trunk which was really heavy and a passenger and ran 19.2 (very sad). I ran again a few weeks later by myself and no system in the trunk ran 17.4 on auto mode and havent been since then due to the embarrasment of slowness. | | | 05-13-2007, 03:53 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 20 | Quote: Originally Posted by Viper3812 The first time I ran I had my system in the trunk which was really heavy and a passenger and ran 19.2 (very sad). Does it help your car rev faster or does it just simply raise the rev limiter? | | | 05-13-2007, 07:09 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | i ran 17.45 with my gt2 that was my best time....so slow compared to manual tis....and still so slow compared to fast cars __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 05-13-2007, 07:17 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 20 | Quote: Originally Posted by robcarync i ran 17.45 with my gt2 that was my best time....so slow compared to manual tis....and still so slow compared to fast cars | what mods do you have? | | | 05-13-2007, 07:23 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | in the signature....dinan tranny chip and engine chip and custom cold air intake __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 05-13-2007, 07:28 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Canada Posts: 20 | Quote: Originally Posted by robcarync in the signature....dinan tranny chip and engine chip and custom cold air intake | what does the dinan tranny chip actually do? HuGo, I'll try and get a pic w/ the front wheels trying to leave the ground. the neutral start hits the tranny hard, but it makes you go faster. I'll be putting a new tranny in someday, so... | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
