Default catalytic converter

well i know a couple of yall have removed your cat and i would like to do the same but i was wondering what you did with the second o2 sensor like did you get a bung welded in the new piping or did you just eliminate it, i was told by the guy that was gonna do my exhaust that if i removed my cat that my car would not run right. but i know that some people had done it so i wanted to know how

I think that if your car is a 1995 I think there is only one 02 sensor. The one sensor is ahead of the cat so there should be no problems.

Mine runs fine with the rear sensor still in place. (1997 model.)

oh well i know i have too but i think im just gonna take the cat off and have a bung welded back in place and have it on there with no cat, thanks

Be carful when you do that if you have ODB-II there may be a problem with removing the second sensor. It will prolly throw a CEL like P0130 B1:S2. This means that there is an error in bank 1 sensor 2. You might check I read that someone got a simm to put in there. I would leave the second sensor in there first and just see how it runs.

well i got the exhaust ran with a 2.5 piping a magnaflow muffler and a magnaflow resanator, i left one sensor, but talk about loud its problably the loudest car here in warner robins GA, but i like it cause everyone is gonna hear me coming

My buddy put in dual custom magnaflow magnapacks cat back exhaust system (01 mustang gt) and the thing sounds so sick. Obviously sounds alot diff on a 4banger but hearing that wants me to drop a V8 in my car

Congrats on the new exhaust. You should come down to Orlando on Aug. 13 for Summerblaze and so I can check out your ride.

So no C.E.L or anythign different like gas or something else? That is interesting with an OBDII, I thought the light would come on with the 2nd sensor.
