Default Idler Pulley question

I just got my new idler, tension pulleys, and serp. belt from pelican.

I took my idler off, and it was different. What I took off was the same as the tensioner but with a small attachment. what they sent me was this

The offset is completely different and it doesn't fit... what gives?

Looks like they sent the wrong part or you ordered the wrong part. What model car do you have and what did you order? I'm curious what you ordered and why it didn't fit

its... the right part. if you look up m42 idler pulley, that is the item they sent me. When I was in the engine i looked at the two pulleys... same BMW part #. Therefore, my car has two tensioner pulleys, one where the idler should be... with some sort of adapter to make it work. I think this might be the work of the previous owner... but then it doesn't make sense why the offset doesn't match. what in the hell!?!?
