I sold my '98 318ti today. Served me very well for the past 20 months and enjoyed it a lot. My #2nd '97 look-alike takes its place. Had it detailed and it looks great. Put all the RD goodies I had in storage on so it looks very sharp now, especially with its new Hellrot paint (same as original). | | | 12-19-2012, 11:33 PM | #2794 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: Roseville, Minnesnowda Posts: 16 | Key didnt come in so i... 1. In an attempt to clear my post o2 sensors I'm replacing both of them. Think after +250,000 miles I've got my monies worth? Even though the voltages are good, I'm being told to CHANGE THEM! Over and over. Rotors and parking brakes next, thanks BimmerBum! Still need to order track pads from Bimmerworld before I replace the rotors. Then I need to find someone to replace the oil suction tube. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-21-2012, 07:28 PM | #2796 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Whoo Hoo. I went to my fav mechanics today to drop off some Christmas cheer for their attentive and reliable service over the past year. While there, I was approached by one of their customers who offered to buy my #2. She walked around the car, sat in it, and made me a cash offer. I was shocked but the offer was too good to pass on and I got a deposit. So now I'm facing being "ti-less" for a while, having sold my two in a couple of days, something I hadn't planned on. I think I'm going thru "sellers remorse"...#2 was really well done. Time to finish the 328iS and make it road-worthy. | | | 12-22-2012, 06:02 AM | #2798 | Member Join Date: Aug 2012 Location: Vancouver, BC Posts: 67 | Replaced valve gasket, replaced spark plugs, cooling system overhaul (finally!) | | | 12-23-2012, 07:25 AM | #2799 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2012 Location: Roseville, Minnesnowda Posts: 16 | Changed Oil, Bled Coolant System, Changed PS Fluid, SeaFoam Treated, Found out a Motor Mount is bad... It's working well, but it seems to be binding at one particular spot and is a little slower on the way up there. Way down is fine. Is there an adjustment to fix this? __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 12-23-2012, 03:50 PM | #2801 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | It's binding on something. Also be sure you are not missing the rubber guide. They tend to loosen up and end up at the bottom of the door. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-23-2012, 10:01 PM | #2802 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Dodging potholes in SoCal Posts: 454 | I just replaced the rubber guide. What exactly is there for the window to bind on? Thanks for the reply __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 12-23-2012, 10:05 PM | #2803 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | It sounds like the window might be a bit askew when you reinstalled it. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 12-23-2012, 10:10 PM | #2804 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Dodging potholes in SoCal Posts: 454 | I didn't think there was adjustment to the window? I thought when the regulator was installed, it just went in. The only thing that's slotted is the channel from the regulator to the door, could it be that? __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 12-25-2012, 06:32 AM | #2805 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | made dad some magnetic numbers for christmas so we don't have to be all ghetto and use tape at autocrosses anymore, now if only the drivers were as legit as the car __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
