Question ATTN: DASC'ers

Im just curious to know why and if anyone also is experiencing this...

Gas milage has improved a little bit better. But when im at 1/4 of gas left, it seems like its eating up the gas quicker. Why is that, or is it just me?

Also, anyone looking to going for the NickG stage 3 software anytime soon? If so, we can probably group buy it if we can. Im kinda also looking foward to going with a 10psi pulley + the software if NickG can make it work for me.

Anyway, just wondering about the gas situation.

Oh and also, is it true if i went with a higher octane say 97+ unleaded will the stock ecu adjust that itself? Thanks in advance.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

Better gas mileage is because you are not getting into the power as much.
The same thing happened to me when I installed a CAI and chip.
I loved they way the CAI sounded.

Can't answer the other questions. Once you are at 1/4, the gas goes down pretty quick.

i think NickG will have to map the ecu to run 97 if you want to go down that road....

where do you get 97 octane gas in the states (in Jersey, anyway)??

only place I saw anything similar is CAM 2 Sunoco (I think) gasoline which is 100 octane, for like 6+ dollars a gallon! & that can't be very cost effective...

no it wont be cost effective and if you do get it mapped you wont be able to use the cheap stuff anymore....

No i was just wondering cuz i read on bfc that your stock ecu will do adjusting by itself.

Anyway, is anybody else with the DASC, does your gas go down faster from 1/4 to 0?

I've not noticed this myself (caveat: no DASC) but it could be due to the shape of the fuel tank.

lol your "premium" is 98 oct? My "premium" here in cali is 91 oct. Your car must haul ass huh with that high octane. I saw a gas station with 100 oct but it was 6.49 a gallon

your ecu should adjust itself from the signal from the lamda and O2 sensors.

but this is only to adjust ignition timing so you dont get "engine knock" from bad quality fuels.

it would normally take about a half tank (20 liters) of varied driving for the ecu to run the new settings as normal perameters. taking the battery off resets these to factory 95 ron (euro) . which is 91 pon (u.s)

Over here in Belgium we only have the option to choose between 95 octane and 98 octane. Those are the only 2 ones here. Obviously I use 98 octane, sometimes along with an octane booster. Runs nice

Don't directly compare octane in Europe and many other countries to the US. We use AKI (anti knock index) and Europe uses RON. RON is usually 5 or 6 points higher, e.g. 98 RON is like premium (91 to 93, 89 at high elevations) in the US and 95 RON is like mid-grade (89-90, 87 at high elevations).

ok i got a question.

If i were to put 3.5gallons of 100octane and 9 gallons of premuim (91octane) what would it actually come out to, how much octane?

Will i feel a difference without tuning the ecu, you know just trying it for once.

If i were to do that, then i go back to just 91premium, i wont experience detonation right? You know, hoping the engine didnt get used to the higher octane then going back to 91 and experiencing detonation now.

93.52=((3.5*100)+(9*91))/12.5
