Oh then that explains it. My car has the original spring pads installed. I will go and remove the lower ones.

Beautiful car and a good engine choice. The M52B28 gives you 189 very dependable horsepower.

Thanks. 190 stock but with the lightweight aluminum block, the lightweight rear end, the lightweight SSR comp wheels and the Comforti Shark Injector, it feels more like 240!

RCV7 so wait, when you removed the old springs that came with the car, their should have been an upper and lower spring pad made out of rubber. I am assuming that based on what you told me earlier you did not install either the bottom or top spring pad? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Default Spring pads

I think you might have problems without both spring pads. I left the original OEM pads in.

I see so you left both the top and bottom pads on the rear springs? I've been reading and a lot of people seem to remove these. Usually to lower the car a tad.

Default Search

You can search here to find various threads on using thinner or thicker than OEM original pads to lower or raise the car.

You are correct. I've got all the information through searches. They offer a 5,7.5, and 10 mm spring pads. My main concern was always that my car had a pretty bad rake. Your car on the other hand even though you and I have the same suspension setup sat much lower in the back counteracting the rake effect. I thought you had removed the bottom spring pad due to an earlier post and so I did that and it sits much better with no noise or creeks. However, now your telling me that you do indeed have both spring pads. I'm a bit confused.

Thanks for the kind words. I sold the car about 2 months ago. It was a fun build and even better driving it. I moved to 4X4 heaven and bought a restored '76 Ford Bronco. Thanks everyone!

RCV7,

Thanks for pointing me to your thread. I read Jim's manual, and I can see that reading about your experience and the experiences of others will help me with my build.

Default output flanges

I made the same mistake by buying a z3 rear end.
I have ordered e30 half shafts, but can I use the old small case ti output flanges on the z3 diff?
Thanks,
Bryan
