Default condenser fan

I'm was wanting to know if I use the front mounted condenser fan and plug it into the connector for the 4 cylinder radiator fan will it work like it should? I am planning on installing one of these as part of my engine swap.

If you wire it correctly it will work. You need to tap into the fan harness correctly for it to work.

Thanks John, I was afraid that I would get an answer like that (only because I don't enjoy tracing through wiring schematics)...
I was hoping to get a freebie here with this one since both the front (pusher) and rear (puller) fans have the same 3 wire connector to the wire harness. I would say from doing a quick side by side comparison the condenser fan (front mounted-pusher) motor and fan blade is bigger. Also one obvious difference that I see is the radiator fan has a resistor, where as the condenser fan doesn't look like it has one.
I would think the function is the same meaning that the fan turns on when the engine gets hot & when the AC is running. I suppose the condenser fan draws more current since it is bigger.

Default e36 pusher fan circuit is the same as the ti suction fan circuit

I compared the schematic of the auxiliary fan circuit for the e36 pusher fan to the e36 compact suction fan and they are identical with one minor difference. The only exception is the fan motor for the ti shows as resistor between the normal speed relay and the motor. This is shown as part of the motor, but other than that the circuits are the same.

e36 Pusher Fan

ti Suction Fan

So I think I'm going to go head with the installation of the e36 condenser (pusher) fan and plug it in and let 'er rip.

Has anyone else done this?

I don't know exactly what is involved with that install but I would think it is similar to what is installed on an e36 318is or 318i. You probably need a fan clutch, fan and a shroud. The pusher fan would be installed in front of the condenser as depicted in the figure above.

My m50 install uses both the engine driven fan and the pusher fan when cooling demand is high. The pusher (condenser) fan is there to assist the AC and turns on when the AC is running to help cool the condenser. I've heard that this fan helps out when the AC is running especially in hot climates (like here in the south).

The 6-cyl Aux fan (front of condensor) has the same connector as the 4 cyl pull fan that comes stock.

Just plug the thing in.

Critical if you want your A/C to function properly.

I am going to trade my m44 electric fan too and right now I am having problems with my AC condenser. It is not functioning properly in the past few days.
