There is no pulse at the injectors, It just show 6v when i turn the key on. I have spark, fuel in the rail and pump is working. What could cause it to have no pulse. Could it be crank angle sensor or ecu? Thanks, Tyler | | | 09-05-2009, 07:20 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | Tyler, we need more information on your car than that... for all I know your talking about a Toyota Tercel. Need year of your car, why doesn't it run (other than the no injector pulse), what you replaced to try and fix it, etc etc etc etc.... __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 09-05-2009, 07:52 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: morgantown, WV Posts: 42 | It's a 1998 318ti, haven't replaced anything yet. If I had a tercel I wouldn't try it fix it. | | | 09-05-2009, 07:58 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: alaska Posts: 8 | Tyler, start with checking power relay you should have battrey voltage at your injectors | | | 09-05-2009, 08:13 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: morgantown, WV Posts: 42 | There is power at the injectors. The car was in a rollover before it was parked, could that have anything to do with it, or should rule that out? | | | 09-05-2009, 08:30 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: alaska Posts: 8 | tyler, you said you only had 6 volts NOT ENOUGH you need 12volts | | | 09-05-2009, 08:35 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | If you need new injectors let me know. I MIGHT still have a set left. | | | 09-06-2009, 01:56 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: morgantown, WV Posts: 42 | anyone? help | | | 09-06-2009, 01:49 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | You said you have 6volts at the injectors. Is that 6volts to chassis ground or 6 volts on the plug? Please check voltage to chassis ground. After identifing the ground on the injector plug do a continuity from plug ground to chassis ground. Are all injectors reporting the same voltagesand gorunds? This will eliminate wiring issues. Please do this then we will move on to the DME tests | | | 09-06-2009, 11:50 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: morgantown, WV Posts: 42 | (This tests on the two wire pug to the injector) One wire grounded to the chassis reads 12V and the other wire grounded to the chassis has 6V. I had the volt meter across both of the wires and got 6v (+12v-(+6v)=6v). So both of the wires are positive. One of the wires is supposed to be grounded to the ecu, right? | | | 09-07-2009, 06:40 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | You should have a red/white going to each injector which is 12 volts. Then you should have Brown/(wht ~ 4, blu ~ 3, grn ~ 2, yel ~ 1) for each injector where the Brown/white is Cylinder #4 and on down with each color I listed. The injector works with 12volts constant and the DME grounds it to fire a pulse. When you checked voltage for me you verifed we have 12volts at red/white so that is good. You should not get an accurate reading from any injector plug terminal since it is 12volts positive and a open circuit to the DME. That circuit (or Brown/(color for cylinder)) would be grounded only if the DME was firing the injector, if it was firing an injector you would see 12volts for a micro second. Check an injector for resistance to ensure the coil is not burned out Last edited by xxxJohnBoyxxx; 09-07-2009 at 06:43 PM. | | | 09-07-2009, 06:44 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | I don't want to sound like a smart ass but how do you know the injector are not pulsing? | | | 09-15-2009, 12:37 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | What happened? Think the dme is dead | Do you have spark? If no spark and no fuel it's a EWS alignment issue. The Motronic 5.2 is a good unit and I've not heard of them only loosing the injector drivers. You have fuel pressure and spark right? If you want to send me your DMW EWS and a Key and will check it all for free and fix any issues I can. If it is in fact a injector driver issue I can fix that or sell you a complete DME, EWS and Key and explain how to use your original key and still have EWS with a hidden key ring antenna and key for the new DME. Easy to explain over the phone. CoolJess would have the parts from his swap and it's much cheeper then a $1000+ dealer fix...
