Default Bilstein shock choice

I'm buying shocks for my 98 318ti and I'm stuck. I want to buy Bilstein, and was leaning toward HD but I really don't want to spend $700 on shocks. It's just a daily driver. No racing anymore and no aggressive driving. How much difference is there between the stock Bilstein B4's and the HD Bilstein B6's? Its quite a price break. I still have the stock shocks on my car and have always been happy with them. What do you all think? Would the B4 Bilstein OE replacements fit for me?

And I'm stuck again. I have the active model. But no clue on the suspension. Bilstein B4 OEM replacements are either standard suspension or sport suspension. How do I tell?

Why don't u just get sachs? Nowhere near $700. If it's a daily driver then it's the best to go back to original factory ride, no?

My 318 is my beater DD. So I rolled the dice on some Vaico shocks and struts from ECS. $200 for all 4 corners.

No complaints, haha.

Sachs should be fine for how you now use the car...just my opinion. Bilstein HD's fit OEM springs. Bilstein Sports only fit lowering springs. John
