I have the 98 318ti M sport I just had my suspension checked and the mechanic told me that my left rear shock is bad and my front struts are leaking. If I purchased a set of billstein coilovers would that basically be all that i need for the repairs? Could i purchase billstein shocks and another companies springs? If so, would i need to replace anything else? I'm probably going to purchase everything on my own and have my mechanic do the work. Thanks in advance! | | | 07-13-2008, 10:21 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Why are you changing the springs? Are they bad? Struts are surprising easy to replace. And why coilovers? Unless you are going to corner balance the car, I see no reason to spend that kind of money. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-13-2008, 10:40 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Atl, GA Posts: 44 | like i said, i'm not much of a mechanic.
