They stop makin TIs for the US in 98? | | | 07-23-2006, 11:25 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Melbourne, Fl/Athens, AL Posts: 393 | They stopped the production of the ti after the E36 because it was a marketing flop. It came out during the SUV boom, when fuel-efficient compacts were'nt wanted. All things considered, I think the E46 ti is ugly as sin, but to each his own. __________________ -Kenny | | | 07-23-2006, 11:58 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | I like the lins that are on our ti's, they should make a new ti for the states, we should have some imput in the design... | | | 07-24-2006, 12:07 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Northern IL Posts: 263 | mercedes offers a super charged compact thats pretty similar looking to the TI. If you really want a newer version of the TI thats probably the closest thing to it in the U.S. but then again you'd have to cross over to the dark side. | | | 07-24-2006, 12:18 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | Quote: Originally Posted by jdehaan mercedes offers a super charged compact thats pretty similar looking to the TI. Is it possible to bring one of those 'new' ti's from europe to the states? Have to undergo some testing? | | | 07-24-2006, 01:00 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Melbourne, Fl/Athens, AL Posts: 393 | You could do it, but you would have to register it as a collector car, which SEVERELY limits yearly milage. The only legal way to do it otherwise would be to but enough to give to the DOT and EPA for crash and emmisions testing. __________________ -Kenny | | | 07-24-2006, 01:19 AM | #10 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by 3DGE we should have some imput in the design... | ROTFLMAO !!! Personally, I don't like the look of the back..nor the front. I'd be happy to plonk the engine into my car tho __________________ -Impyboy | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
