I wanted something small and light, but that probably won't sound any better. Didn't use the stock resonators because the tubing diameter is smaller than the 2" tube (they are heavy for as small as they are) I was going to go straight pipe all the way, but the way the midpipe sounds, I don't think adding a few feet of pipe is going to make it any better. M coupe muffler maybe, but I don't really like dual dual tips. | | | 03-12-2011, 03:29 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Do some side exhaust :P Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 03-13-2011, 03:20 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | I posted some of my custom setup post swap here for Dave in his rally car build thread... http://318ti.org/forum/showpost.php?...&postcount=166 2.5 all the way from the headers to the tip... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I just can't imagine a proper setup on the ti yet though.. How do you like the 2.5" single sound? I might change it sometime.. thinking part of the reason it sounded so bad was the old gas I neglected to drain... At least your neighbors will appreciate the soothing rumble and smell of gasoline as their windows shake every morning. Cat delete = Ghetto, selfish and inconsiderate IMO. | | | 03-13-2011, 05:43 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Earth Posts: 178 | I hear you Jess, it's like those inconsiderate f*%#s that burn firewood. Selfish bastards, I mean who cares if they stay warm, they shouldn't be polluting the air. the old gas smells espcially bad! Well I have a whole tank now to burn off going nowhere.. I should drain the gas from my tank..There's a stream right near here I could pour it out there. I have one on my 318ti, 325ti, and soon on the c57. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 03-13-2011, 09:04 PM | #8 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by Junk I hear you Jess, it's like those inconsiderate f*%#s that burn firewood. I suppose you being cheap and ghetto makes you that much more intelligent than the engineers who designed your car or the agencies that imposed laws to protect our environment. Well played sir. | | | 03-14-2011, 12:03 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Quote: Originally Posted by Junk I should drain the gas from my tank..There's a stream right near here I could pour it out there. I'm not sure what I'm planning yet, I only know that I'll be using a dual in/out Stromung catback from an M3. __________________ | | | 03-14-2011, 05:38 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Earth Posts: 178 | Yes being sarcastic! .. that old gas really is bad though.. engine did not want to accelerate with load. It sounded better after I mixed some fresh gas in, so I'll drain it before running it again.. Didn't think it was that old, but that better be it. Blue! Got any pics? 'c57' your ls1 compact? Got enough ti's yet!? I know what it's like I've had a few duplicates..Can't believe you have the energy to work on all of them! Jess: whatever makes you happy child. I picked up a OEM E36 M3 catback and it looks like I might have to do some cutting. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 03-17-2011, 03:53 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Two pipes are bigger than one.... __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 03-17-2011, 04:17 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | Agreed. The weight on the OEM M3 catback is ridiculous. I might think of doing something custom with a single tip. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 03-17-2011, 04:58 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Why use an m3 cutback it's too long __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
