Need one or two Yesterday I noticed that my rear right side of the car is about half inch lower than the left side. I lifted the car, took the wheel off and I found out that my rear right coil spring is broken. Top little piece and bottom little piece are cracked and separated from the main spring. There is the wide middle piece left that keeps the car up. I have never seen that before. I asked my mechanic and he told me, that this happens sometime because of the temperature changes, the spring steel become weak and sometime breaks. So I need to replace the coil spring. The car has never been lowered. This is the stock spring. I don't want to lower the car. Do you have any idea where I can find a coil spring new or used one, or if somebody that already lowered his car can sell me one or two coil springs? EDIT: I already got them | | | 08-13-2006, 06:27 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Do you have the Sport package? | | | 08-13-2006, 06:49 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | You need to replace them in pairs. I purchased a used set of standard springs off a member of this forum, there were a few other offers. Make a post in the WTB section. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 08-13-2006, 09:00 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | Quote: Originally Posted by CirrusSR22 Do you have the Sport package? | I don't have the sport package. Anyone have a rear sport package spring they want to sell? | | | 12-11-2006, 11:58 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | I had the same problem few months ago when I bought my car. The right was broken top and bottom, the left just bottom. I can't explain what exactly could caused that, but I was told it's probably weaking the strenght of the steel because of the temperature changes. | | | 12-12-2006, 12:00 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 234 | We have seen this at the shop several times.
