Exclamation Got a new problem; its a 1997!

The only problem the car seems to have is with the cat's!? When i plugged the Peake Code reader into the car b-4 driving it i saw 3 faults.

1st and 2nd are the cats. code EA and EC. Bad cats! not a problem (i thought)
3rd code is throttle position sensor code OC ( i think).

The problems that it gave me were huge! Car runs fine at cruising speed on freeway but throttle response is slow...but after driving for a long time and you stop the car and then try to accellerate it starts to misfire! So i checked codes again and it also said a misfire in cyl.1! So i pulled off at next town and limped it into an auto zone. There i changed the spark plugs and oil (all i can do w/o my tools). Car didnt change!
Can an extremely bad cat cause this?
Where can i find some great Exhaust systems? or High flow cats for obd2 in california? And what else could it be? How can i test to see what it is?

P.S. I KNOW ITS DIRTY. It just went over 1000 miles!~

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

you may get a better response with a m3 specific group.

I'd address all the error codes, if that's the cats or the o2 sensors, start with those.

Also do a compression test to be sure everything is ok.

Why buy a fixer upper from so far away???

hey so since you have no TI now and have an M3 now. Im guessing your going to leave this forums now and continue joining bimmerforums or any other m3 related forums. Hey since you have an M3 now, and still waiting to see how much your insurance gives you, supercharge your m3. Get the AA tuning to be in the 400s

1997, 100k miles, mint exterior (just dirty), ran like a champ when i bought it, and heres the kicker....$8500 The owner was a rich guy who tried for so long to get 14k for it, i saw it listed in autotrader for months. Knowing i couldnt afford it i called, and the owner informed me that he was moving to costa-rica and that if the car was not sold by the weekend he was going to sell it to carmax for 8500. So i bought a ticket and here i am!

Texas is the liquidator for BMWs, I have seen many good deals come out of TX, I almost picked up a Imola 98 M Roadster for 15k...but someone beat me to her.
