Definitely take some video, even if you drop a buddy off on the side of the road and have him video! It's the one thing I didn't get enough of, and now the car is sitting and I would like to watch the videos. SO, you are gonna do that for me right Anyways, any updates on your car, I knew it was there but I thought it was done, or close. | | | 11-11-2010, 04:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Dude.. how are you the first one to hop on this thread? Do you lurk 318ti.org constantly?! I purchased a "high quality" aiptek HD camera for just this purpose. Next time I'm running around with Jay/Jon I'll wreck havoc. I emailed Mike last night but have not heard back. He still has the car. I asked him what the bill would come to!... Probably taking so long cause he doesn't know how to count that high *sigh* I'm ready to go pick it up whenever! | | | 11-11-2010, 04:35 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Minneapolis, MN Posts: 307 | Haha, no I just am slow with work right now, and I'm having withdrawals from my car, especially after getting my dyno numbers. Like I said I think he's reasonable. So when we both fully build motors, we both should send our cars to mike at the same time!! Get a 318ti group buy rate going haha Take it easy. | | | 11-18-2010, 08:56 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Looks like full boost is in around 5000 rpm now: | | | 11-21-2010, 01:59 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Europe, Vienna Posts: 10 | Hope you enjoy your achievement | | | 11-23-2010, 12:51 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Hey, thanks SlavPala4a. Sadly, I Still don't have the car back yet. I'm trying not to rush Mike, but it's hard! I really feel like a 9 year old a week before Christmas. Every time I hear from him though, it's good news and more power.. so I kinda just wait for midnight text messages. Maybe one will be "okay, come get it". | | | 11-23-2010, 01:31 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Reading, PA Posts: 140 | what size tires/rims do you have in the back? are you lowered at all? | | | 11-23-2010, 01:42 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | They're 17" x 9" wheels. The car is in NJ with 255/40R17's, but I have a pair of Mickey Thompson 275/40/R17's that I'll put on when I get it back. They rub every so slightly. I'll take care of that when I put them back on. I'm lowered a little bit. Not sure how much as the springs came with the car. | | | 11-23-2010, 01:45 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Reading, PA Posts: 140 | what are you going to do to stop the rubbing? just wondering because im getting an s52 swap and am planning to turbo it eventually | | | 11-23-2010, 01:54 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Roll it with a roller or pipe. Hammer. Torch, saw? Whatever it takes. That's just how I roll. I'll let you know how I make out! | | | 11-23-2010, 02:27 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | So what else has to be done with the car? | | | 11-23-2010, 03:46 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Virginia Posts: 242 | I want to hear the outcome on this, I may try it myself! | | | 11-23-2010, 04:27 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | I've already rolled the fenders with a pipe. A bud has the actual tool that bolts to the hub. I'll grab that off him. It really needs just a hair more. 1/8" tops. It's just the right side. My left is cleaning. If I were to cut the inner lip off, it would definitely clear. However, I'd lose strength in the arch, so I'll try not to do that. RaiMa: What else needs to be done before I get the car back from Maximum PSI? Nothing really. He's just doing road testing as far as I know. I guess there's still some tread on the tires he needs to knock off! | | | 11-23-2010, 03:04 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
