Sorry about the crappy cellphone photo...Just have the sunroof trim piece to put back - started to rain before I got it all wrapped up and looks like I may need some velcro for the little sunroof panel. I think the hardest part was finding the screw holes. At least it feels like a complete car again. | | | 04-30-2012, 04:35 AM | #2283 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | took my 96 to an autocross and finally got the subwoofers in the 95 working | | | 04-30-2012, 06:57 AM | #2284 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Made a trip to one of the local Pick and Pull and picked up a bunch of parts for the 95 & 97 sports from a E36 in great shape. Also found parts for my E30 Vert and a friend's E30 coupe. We traded keys, then zipped hard around a few back roads... Until I saw the engine check light and saw a coolant warning light up on the panel close to home. His water pump gave out and emplied coolant out of the system. I may be a Jinx. Second coolant system to blow on me in 8 days. We'll swap it out and take care of his timing belt while we're in there. M20. He ended the day with positive words for the 97 ti. He had previously did not have a good opinion of them. He actually likes them now. I let him choose a loaner car among a E28 533i, E30 Vert and the 95 ti Sport. He zipped out in the 533i with a big grin. I suspect he'll have fun. All in all, a good day of BMW fun. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! (Ignore the slight dirtiness, it's been raining pollen like mad!) __________________ 1997 318ti 5-speed Moreagrün 1996 318ti auto Hellrot (retired) | | | 05-01-2012, 03:50 AM | #2286 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Got up to speed on a small touch up spray gun I bought from Harbor Freight. I'm just about ready to shoot the bottom portion of my front bumper that got messed up when I hit a dog who came out of nowhere (very sad). While I'm at it, I'm playing around fabricating a mesh grill insert to replace the plastic slats on my base model. Can't tell if I like the look yet or not. | | | 05-01-2012, 01:01 PM | #2287 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! I'll have to look into that. __________________ 1997 318ti 5-speed Moreagrün 1996 318ti auto Hellrot (retired) | | | 05-01-2012, 02:05 PM | #2289 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | A lot of guys with peeling stickers have opted for paint... Use a semi-gloss black (not flat, which will look gray) if you decide to paint them. You can stick on some black electrical tape to get a 'feel' for how it will look before you commit... It helps with stopping peeling later on, sticks to plastic better than the paint will. __________________ Love ALL Bimmers.
