I love rotary engines and I can get a 20b tri-rotor for $4000. So yeah my m44 died ayear ago and has been sitting waiting for the money to be saved for the s52 swap. I have seen other BMW's online with this swap but I was wondering how the people on here would feel about me doing such a thing to the sacred 318ti. I mean if a person is willing to put an LS1 in it why not? The trial and error costs for doing such a swap could be high but the rewards of having a 100k rpm 500 hp engine could make up for that BTW the 318ti isn't sacred, if it was people would do all of these crazy mods. | | | 09-17-2010, 01:39 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Makes me think of that japanese vid of the 3 rotor powered AE86... "3 ROTOR!!" Sounds like a cool swap. __________________ No more ti. | | | 09-17-2010, 01:46 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Sounds like an awesome swap to me, go for it! __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-17-2010, 04:16 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Ct Posts: 151 | Interesting idea... I guess I am outta the loop but how much does an s52 cost? Wouldn't the rotor be alot more expensive? even just for the motor, not including all the custom work and everything else associated with getting that installed? I really love my s50 swap, but there is something to be said for people who go out on a limb and try something new. It could turn out awesome. but it might be a long and difficult road. depends on how much you can do yourself, and how much patience you have for it. if you go for it. goodluck and do a tutorial :-P | | | 09-17-2010, 07:35 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | I really need that tri-rotor. A triple is one of the loudest engines I ever fiddled with....
