Default dead fan motor blower??

ok this isnt the only problem in the car (ie water pump), but this just happened a day ago. I arrive at school and turn off the AC button and leave the fan on 2 to air out the system from keeping the condensed air in the vents and keeping out moisture that will stink up my vents. I turn the ignition switch enough so taht the engine shuts off but at the same time the fan goes off. Normally the fan doesnt shut off so i decide to turn the ignition switch so taht all the check lights turn on. still the fan is not blowing air. I try turning all the knobs but still get nothing. im guessing that the problem is the motor blower because all the fuses are still good. if not that then the wires or my switch. my questions are:

has anyone ever had this problem?
how do i fix this?
what could be related to cause this problem?
what problems could arise from this problem (other than me sweating my ass off in the afternoon)?
