So I found
this thread and it sounds similar to my problem. I just wanted to solicit advice, especially concerning potential cost of repair because the $$$ for a synchro as mentioned in the linked post makes me question keeping the car.
Problem: when I slow down and/or come to a stop, if accelerate again in short succession the engine revs up but something in the power train doesn't "catch" for a moment. When it does it feels like dropping the clutch in on a manual transmission if you rev up to 2500+ RPM or so. Suggestions? I appreciate the help everyone.
