Question Push to start button

Ok. Im looking to install a push start button into the BMW more as a bit of fun than anything else. Im an electronic engineering student so it'll be a useful experiment! All i want to know is what button's can i use? I cant get my hands on a z8 push start button (not in stock at the main dealers), so im wondering what else could i possibly use?? Do any other model bmw have a push start? It is only a momentary switch, so is it possible to use a horn switch or something similar. Iv never installed one before so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I'm pretty sure the new 3 series has a push button start.

We did this to my budies e36 M3, and it is pretty sweet!! Really easy to put start button too, and relatively inexpensive.

FYI-

Moved to electrical section....

Part Number for Z8 roadster button should be in realoem.com.

Take number to local dealer and ask them to order it- should only take a few days to get it in.
