I was reading the Knowledge Base on using the extra power connector hidden under the arm rest. I had originall mentioned this connector, and Cali-Ti made an entry in the Knowledge Base. It has since been updated to a link from http://www.mz3.net/articles/109.html In that article, it says to call Amphenol and get free samples of the connector and pins. That article is 7 years old, and now TYCO owns Amphenol. When I call them for samples, they say both the connector and pins are restricted for samples and or purchase. Seems there is only one company out there allowed to purchase these. Must be BMW who restricted the sale of these with a arrangement with TYCO. __________________

Give the number to a local dealer and see if they can work out a purchase. They might do it if you let them do the install or an oil change or something. __________________

Just called local dealer, no way possible. They need a BMW part# to order it. They have no way of knowing what part# TYCO crosses to BMW, that's even assuming BMW is the one holding the restricted sale agreement on this connector.
