I read someplace that BMW could easily get more power out of the 335 engine, but they don't currently have a transmission available that'll take the power. Another interesting point, given all the fancy valvetronic stuff on the engine, they're able to keep a pretty high compression ratio (10.2:1) even with a significant amount of boost. I'd bet just running really good gas in that engine will give a nice upgrade in power.
